GARNACHA TINTA
30.000 MARAVEDÍES 2023
30.000 Maravedíes 2023 is a village wine that faithfully reflects the unique character of San Martín de Valdeiglesias. Coming from the foothills of the Sierra de Gredos, between the valleys of the Alberche, Iruelas and Alto Tiétar rivers, its vineyards benefit from a particular mesoclimatic and edaphological environment: altitudes between 650 and 850 meters, mountain-influenced climate and sandy-textured granitic soils. Made exclusively from Grenache, 30.000 Maravedíes seeks to express with authenticity the unique conditions of San Martín de Valdeiglesias.
Freshness. The fruitiest and most delicate character of the Grenache born in Gredos. Reflection in bottle of the richness and diversity of its soils, orientations and vineyards. Expression of the viticultural history of San Martín de Valdeiglesias.

A vintage brought forward by the weather
The fall of 2022 had mild temperatures, followed by a winter with rain and atypically mild temperatures for the winter season. Spring started early, bringing the vegetative cycle forward: weeping began in February and budbreak occurred in mid-April, ahead of the usual cycle. Flowering began in June and fruit set was reduced by heavy rains in late May and early June, which coincided with full bloom. June maintained moderate temperatures until July, when they began to rise. The grapes were harvested from August 22 to September 8. Conditions were optimal until early September, when heavy rains forced a brief pause. However, these rains did not affect the ripeness and quality of the grapes, and the harvest was completed satisfactorily.

A legacy in San Martín
San Martín de Valdeiglesias is and has been mainly a wine-growing municipality. Its orography is defined by four valleys: mainly surrounded by the Alberche river, its altitude stands out over the valley of the Iruelas and the valley of the upper Tiétar. Grenache vines have flooded the landscape of the Gredos mountain range for centuries. Unique viticultural conditions facilitate optimal development and balance in the vineyard: granitic hercynian rocks, adamelites with megacrystals and torrallitic microaggregates. Its mountain rainfall and Mediterranean temperatures together with its altitude of between 650 and 850 mark this unique environment. The name of the wine is reminiscent of local history: 30,000 maravedíes is the amount paid by Álvaro de Luna for the purchase of the Señorío de San Martín.

Village wine
30.000 Maravedíes 2023 is the result of blending the character of the San Martín Garnacha. During the harvest, the bunches were picked by hand in 12 kg boxes. The selected grapes arrived at the winery whole and were macerated with their own stems. Fermentation took place in French oak vats of 3,000 to 4,500 liters and in stainless steel tanks, making pigeage. It was aged for 15 months on its own lees in foudres and French oak and concrete vats of between 1,000 and 5,000 liters. For greater protection, the wine contains sulfites. It was bottled in the spring of 2025.
